First post of 2009!

I'm not sure if anyone even bothers to check this anymore ...but here's a new post to at least get the Nov 08 off the top! I just had my 39th birthday and I can't believe it ...time has gone by so fast, but it has been great. I have experienced a lot in my life and believe I'm a better person for it. I'm sure God has much more in store for me though and I look forward to the adventure.

The weather here in Monterey is just wonderful ...another sunny, warm Jan day. We spent the afternoon with the dogs hiking in Del Monte Forest and then having a burger down at Lover's Point by the ocean. What a beautiful place ...

Now it's Saturday night, I'm on the internet and Randy is cat-napping in the chair, holding the remote. The dogs are laying in the beds we have for them in the living room and the cat is asleep curled up on top of the sofa. A quiet Sat night ...

Big Sur 1/2 marathon

On 9 Nov 08, I ran my first (and probably last) 1/2 marathon ... you are probably thinking, "I didn't know you were training for a 1/2 marathon?" and you are correct. I ran for the first 11 miles, then had to start run/walking. My legs are pretty sore today, but not so bad that I can't walk ...although going down stairs is painful!

Randy took these pics near the finish. I'm so numb at this point, I'm not really sure what's going on. All I could think of was getting to that dang finish line and feet don't fail me now!

Point Sur Lightstation

On 14 October, we took a moonlight tour of the Point Sur Lightstation (http://www.pointsur.org/) which is off CA-1, south of Carmel and north of Big Sur.
